2011 Dominique Portet
Fontaine Rosé
Balmy Spring and Summer days are here, and what better way to enjoy them than with a chilled glass of rosé in hand. While this drop has been adored for many years, it’s only in fairly recent times that the rosé revolution has hit its stride, with many sauvignon blanc lovers making the switch to its pink hued cousin.
2011 will be remembered as cool and wet throughout Victoria, and this years release blends Merlot (50%) Shiraz (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). The Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from the Yarra Valley, and the Shiraz from the Pyrenees region. These varieties play a pivotal role in this year’s release, adding great fruit intensity to our moreish style. The result is a fresh, elegant wine with a superb red berry fragrance and a delicious dry and savoury finish.
