L’Héritage offers access to the deeper cellar of the estate, museum wines, rare library releases and special bottlings drawn from vintages that have quietly matured over time. Many of these wines exist in only small quantities, released occasionally from our library holdings.

Each allocation reflects Ben’s judgement of what is drinking beautifully, what deserves further cellaring, and what best expresses the lineage of our Bordeaux varietals and the heritage of the Portet family.

How It Works
L’Apéro is designed to fit around the way you actually drink wine.

You choose how much you’d like, how often it arrives, and how you would like your selection shaped.

Simple.

Step One - Choose Your Quantity
Select either:

This becomes your allocation size. You can adjust it at any time if your cellar, or entertaining plans change.

Step Two - Choose Your Frequency
Decide how often you would like your wines delivered:
• Quarterly
• Six monthly
• Annually

Some members enjoy a steady flow throughout the year. Others prefer a generous seasonal delivery. There is no right answer, just what suits your table.

Step Three - Choose Your Style
Once you have selected your quantity and frequency, decide how you would like your allocation shaped. You have two options.

1. Select Your Wines
Select how many of each wine, from the four in our Fontaine range:
• Fontaine Rosé
• Fontaine Chardonnay

• Fontaine Cabernets

Each delivery will be thoughtfully assembled from the Fontaine range, shaped by:

• A natural balance across Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernets

Rather than a fixed formula, the selection evolves through the year. It is the closest expression of how we drink these wines ourselves.

As the estate evolves, members have priority access to new releases and limited bottlings, allowing their allocation to remain beautifully consistent or change with the seasons, the table, and their curiosity.

Step Three - Trust the Curation
L'Héritage is not a wine club you build yourself. It is a personally curated experience, shaped entirely by Ben Portet.

Each allocation may include:
• Museum wines with provenance and cellaring potential
• Rare library releases showing beautiful development
• Special bottlings and limited parcels
• Bordeaux varietals with lineage; Cabernet, Merlot, and blends that reflect our heritage

Rather than a fixed selection, each allocation reflects what is showing beautifully at the estate in that moment, alongside wines that deserve further time in the cellar.

You will receive bottles ready to enjoy now, alongside wines worth laying down. Some will be familiar, others discoveries: small parcels, back vintages or experimental releases that rarely make it beyond the cellar door.

It is the closest thing to drinking from Ben's own cellar. Quantities are naturally limited as many of these wines come from small library holdings.

The Philosophy of L’Héritage
This is wine as it was meant to be experienced, with patience, context, and respect for the craft.

Aged wines reveal complexity that cannot be rushed. Tannins soften, fruit evolves, and secondary characters emerge; leather, tobacco, forest floor, and truffle. These are the layers that define great Bordeaux varietals and reward those who wait.

L'Héritage celebrates that tradition. It honours the old-world philosophy of our French roots while expressing the purity and finesse of the Yarra Valley.

Each bottle carries a story; vintage conditions, winemaking decisions, and the years spent quietly maturing. Ben's curation ensures that story is worth telling.
