Profile
Deep, complex and composed, with blackcurrant, dark plum and cedar layered with graphite, tobacco and subtle earth. The palate is seamless and structured, carried by fine-grained tannins and calm, measured power. A Cabernet of authority and grace, unfolding slowly with extraordinary length.
Fermentation
André is crafted only in exceptional years, using fruit selected parcel by parcel from our finest estate blocks. Handpicked and handled with absolute care, the wine was fermented gently to build structure without excess. It was then matured for eighteen months in tightly grained French oak, with fifty percent new barrels chosen for restraint and longevity rather than impact. Time, patience and experience shaped a Cabernet of depth, harmony and lasting presence.
Vineyards
Sourced entirely from our estate vineyards in Coldstream, planted on grey loams over clay with broken sandstone. Cabernet Sauvignon from the WA Cape Clone forms the foundation of André.
Vintage
The 2015 season in the Yarra Valley unfolded slowly and evenly, with a long ripening period and no extreme heat. These conditions allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to develop depth, perfume and fine tannin while retaining freshness, shaping a vintage of structure, balance and exceptional longevity.
